First City FC Launches Jamboree Soccer to Keep Teens Playing (and Loving) the Game
For many young players, soccer abruptly ends after their final U14 recreational season. For those that don’t go on to play in a competitive club, the options disappear and the game they once loved fades into the background. First City Football Club is working to change that.

Driven by a mission to grow a lifelong love of soccer in the Leavenworth community, First City FC has introduced Jamboree Soccer, a new program designed specifically for 15-18 year-olds who want to keep playing, without the pressure of traditional leagues.
Jamboree Soccer flips the usual model on its head. Instead of fixed teams, all players train together, and teams are randomly formed each week for games.Â
The result?Â
A fast-paced, fun, and challenging environment where players develop skills, compete freely, and rediscover why they fell in love with the game. One week you’re playing with your friends, the next week, you’re playing against them. Nothing pushes a player more than seeing their friend on the other side of the ball!
Each week includes two sessions:
Session 1: Development-focused training
Session 2: Skill work followed by 40–50 minutes of scrimmage/game with randomly assigned teams
Sessions run 75–90 minutes, and the season aligns with the Leavenworth Soccer Association and Lansing Parks & Rec calendar, making it easy for families to plan.
The goal of Jamboree Soccer goes beyond training and competition. First City FC hopes to create lifelong players and fans of the game, whether they continue playing, become coaches or referees, or simply pass their love of soccer on to the next generation.
Registration opens February 1st. Click Here to Register
